When listening to a customer, you should always take notes and repeat key information back to the customer. This not only helps start a relationship with the customer, but it shows that you are listening, engaged and it causes them to actively listen. This is one of the best-kept secrets to controlling the conversation and bringing in more first-time customers.
Mighty offers the software that can turn those notes into dollars. Click here to learn more.
The word “recommend” is your best friend when it comes to selling maintenance and additional services. It can replace “needs” and even overdue. Recommend is a powerful word that can convey the expertise of the technician advising that an item needs attention.
Mighty offers point-of-sale materials to help your customers understand the repairs you are recommending. Click here to learn more.
If you use the word “dirty” to describe a filter or fluid, you are not using the right language to sell the job. “Dirty” does not compare or reference the condition of a fluid or filter with criteria set by a test, OE replacement interval or observation of the technician. If you are describing the condition of a filter, use a phrase like, “filter restricted by dirt, recommend replacement.” For fluids, try using the phrase, “Fluid is contaminated and/or is beyond factory recommended service interval.”
Mighty offers a complete line of filters, motor oil and the VS7 Chemicals to service any vehicle. Click here for more information.
